Viessmann Vitodens 200-W B2KE 30kW Combi Gas Boiler
Designed and manufactured by Viessmann, the Vitodens 200-W B2KE is a highly efficient condensing gas boiler range. This is one of two combi boilers in the range and has a central heating output of 25.4 kW.
Vitodens 200-W boilers are highly efficient and could help to reduce your heating bills by a considerable amount. This is thanks to an efficiency rating of 94% and ErP A-rating for heat and hot water.
Combi boilers have two output ratings: a central heating (CH) output and a domestic hot water (DHW) output. This Vitodens 200-W model has a CH output of 25.4 kW and DHW output of 30.5 kW making it suitable for homes with up to 10 radiators and a single bathroom.
If this boiler doesn’t meet the needs of your home then there’s a more powerful combi with a CH output of 32 kW and DHW output of 34 kW. There’s also a range of system boilers with CH outputs up to 35 kW.
For smaller properties with 1-2 bathrooms, a combi boiler is the perfect choice of heating system. They’re single cost-effective units that don’t need to be installed alongside a cylinder so you’ll be saving space.
Should you have high demands for hot water and have 2+ bathrooms then a system boiler would be more suitable. System boilers are installed alongside a cylinder which stores hot water, allowing them to meet higher demands.
Vitodens 200-W boilers come with a 3 year warranty as standard that can be extended to 5 years when installed by a Viessmann trained installer or 10 years if registered through the Viesmmann online portal.
This is a highly efficient and reliable boiler that also boasts a number of key features: Wi-Fi connectivity allowing to take control of the boiler through the ViStart App, a wide modulation range of 1:17 which reduces energy consumption, a MatriX-Plus burner to increase efficiency, a stainless steel heat exchanger and touchscreen display.
This is a compact boiler with dimensions of 700 x 450 x 365mm (HxWxD) and has been designed for wall-mounted installation.

The Vitodens 200-W 35 kW combi gas boiler by Viessmann is a highly efficient and powerful boiler that could help to lower your heating bills.
Vitodens 200-W combi boilers are highly efficient and could help to lower your heating bills. This is thanks to an efficiency rating of 94% which makes this an ErP A-rated boiler.
Combi boilers have a central heating (CH) output and a domestic hot water (DHW) output and it’s important that both of these meet the demands of your home.
This model has a CH output of 32 kW and DHW output of 34 kW making it ideal for homes with around 15 radiators and up to 2 bathrooms.
If this 35 model is too powerful then there’s a smaller unit with a CH ouput of 25.4 kW and DHW output of 30.5 kW.
Combi boilers are compact all-in-one heating systems that don’t need to be installed with any additional tanks or cylinders. This makes them a great option for properties with limited space available yet does limit the amount of hot water they can provide. So, if you have a high demand for hot water and 2 or more bathrooms, a system boiler could be more suitable.
The Viessmann Vitodens 200-W 35 features a 3 year warranty as standard that can be extended to 5 years when installed by a Viessmann trained installer and 10 years if registered through the Viesmmann online portal.
A key feature of this boiler is that you can take control from anywhere using the ViCare App as the unit has Wi-Fi integration. Plus, a wide modulation range of 1:17 and MatriX burner helps to maximise efficiency.

Viessmann Vitodens 100-W B1KC 35kW Combi Gas Boiler
The Viessmann Vitodens 100-W B1KC 35 is a condensing gas-fired combi boiler and the most powerful unit in the range, with an output of 35 kW.
Viessmann are well known for manufacturing highly efficient boilers and this model is no different. Thanks to an efficiency of 94%, making this an ErP A-rated boiler, installing this boiler could help to lower your heating bills.
This Vitodens 100-W boilers has a 35 kW output for central heating and domestic hot water, making it suitable for installation in properties with around 15 radiators and 2 bathrooms.
A boiler that’s too powerful for the demands of your home will see your heating bills. So, if this 35 kW model is too powerful then Vitodens 100-W B1KC combi boilers are also available in outputs of 26 kW and 30 kW.
Combi boilers are single cost-effective heating systems that don’t need to be installed alongside any tanks or cylinders. This means installing a combi boiler will save space around your home. However, this limits the amount of hot water they can deliver so if your property has 2 or more bathrooms then you may want to consider a system boiler.
Available with a 5-year warranty as standard, this can be extended to 10 years if installed by a Viessmann Trained Installer.
To make this boiler so reliable and efficient, it features a backlit LCD touchscreen display, a modulation ratio of 1:6, and stainless steel heat exchanger.

Viessmann Vitodens 222-F B2TE 25kW Storage Combi Gas Boiler
Manufactured by Viessmann, the Vitodens 222-F is a storage combi boiler which means that it provides heating on demand and stores domestic hot water in an integral cylinder.
An efficient boiler will help to lower the heating bills of your home and thanks to a 92% efficiency and ErP A-rating, the Vitodens 222-F could do just that.
A central heating (CH) rating of 25 kW makes this boiler well suited to properties with around 10 radiators. Then, as this is a combi, there’s the domestic hot water (DHW) output too which is 28.3 kW and with the integral cylinder, this is suitable for 1-2 bathrooms.
As well as this model, there’s a smaller Vitodens 222-F boiler with a CH output of 19 kW and a more powerful unit which has a CH output of 35 kW.
By storing hot water in a cylinder, a storage combi boiler is a great option for homes with a higher demand for domestic hot water. And, thanks to the cylinder being within the boiler, it won’t take up as much space as a system boiler.
Available with a 5-year warranty as standard, this can be extended out to 10 years when the installation is carried out by a Viessmann Trained Installer.
This is a durable and efficient boiler, thanks to its inox-radial heat exchanger. It also delivers high levels of efficiency thanks to a power saving high-efficiency pump, there’s a control unit with a 5-inch colour touchscreen and it can be connected to the internet allowing you to control it from your phone via an app.
Measurements of 595 x 600 x 1,400mm (HxWxD) make this a fairly compact storage combi boiler that’s designed for floor-standing installation.

Viessmann Vitodens 100-W Compact WB1B 13kW Regular Gas Boiler
The Viessmann Vitodens 100-W Compact 13 is a condensing regular gas boiler with a 13 kW heating output.
As a condensing boiler, the Vitodens 100-W range is highly efficient. This model has an efficiency rating of 94% which makes it an ErP A-rated boiler meaning that it could help to reduce your heating bills.
A 13 kW central heating output rating means that this boiler is suitable for installation in properties with around 10 radiators.
This range of regular boilers includes 5 models, all of which have different outputs. This is the least powerful unit and other outputs in the range are 16 kW, 19 kW, 26 kW and 35 kW which means that there’s a model for different levels of demand for central heating.
Regular boilers are the oldest type of boiler and are most commonly found in traditional properties. They need to be installed alognside a hot water cylinder as well as feed and expansion tanks in the loft.
If you don’t already have a regular boiler installed then a system or combi boiler would be more appropriate due to the complex pipework.
A 5 year warranty is available as standard but this can be extended up to 10 years when installed by a Viessmann Trained Installer.
To deliver high levels of efficiency of up to 97%, this unit is fitted with a stainless steel Inox-Radial heat exchanger and comes with a large user-friendly display, giving you complete control.
All of these features add up to make a reliable and efficient boiler that’s recommended by the Energy Saving Trust. As with most Viessmann boilers this range of boilers is compatible with LPG if you aren’t connected to the gas mains.
This unit has been designed for wall-mounted installation and measures 600 x 375 x 285mm.
Advantages:
- Very efficient

Viessmann Vitodens 100-W Compact WB1B 35kW Regular Gas Boiler
The Viessmann Vitodens 100-W Compact 35 is a condensing regular gas boiler with an output rating of 35 kW, making it the most powerful model in the range.
A 94% efficiency rating and ErP A-rating for heat show that this is a very efficient boiler that could help to lower your heating bills.
A 35 kW output rating means that this boiler is best suited to larger properties with up to 20 radiators.
This is the most powerful regular boiler in the range so if you’re looking for a lower output then 13 kW, 16 kW, 19 kW and 26 kW models are also available.
Unlike combi boilers, which heat water directly from the mains, a regular boiler is fed water from a tank in the loft and stores on hot water in a cylinder. While this does mean that they can meet high demands for hot water, they do take up a lot of space.
If you don’t already have a regular boiler installed in your home, then a system boiler (which also needs a cylinder but takes water from the mains) would be a more appropriate option.
As standard, Vitodens 100-W regular boilers come with a 5 year warranty but this can be extended to 10 years if installed by a Viessmann Trained Installer.
This boiler comes recommended by the Energy Savings Trust thanks to being so efficient which comes as a result of a number of features, including an inox Radial heat exchanger. While this is a 94% efficiency boiler, it is able to deliver efficiencies up to 97%.
As the name suggests, this is a compact boiler with dimensions of 600 x 375 x 340mm (HxWxD) and has been designed for wall-mounted installation.

If this 16 kW model doesn’t match up with your heating demands then the range also includes 13 kW, 26 kW and 35 kW models too.
As a regular boiler, this unit must be installed alongside a feed and expansion tank in the loft as well as a hot water cylinder. This requires extensive pipework and plenty of space so they’re only really worth considering if you already have a regular boiler installed in your home. Otherwise a system boiler is likely to be the best option.

A regular boiler needs to be installed as part of a large heating system which also includes a feed and expansion tank in the loft as well as a hot water cylinder. All of these parts require an extensive amount of pipework
For this reason, regular boilers need plaenty of space and can be complex to install if your home isn’t already heated by one. If that is the case then you should consider a system boiler.

A Vitodens 200-W system boiler could help to lower your heating bills by as much as 35% thanks to an efficiency rating of 93% and ErP A-rating.
A 19 kW central heating output rating puts this Vitodens 200-W boiler in a position to heat homes with up to 15 radiators.

A system boiler needs to be installed as part of a heating system which also includes a hot water cylinder. The cylinder stores domestic hot water until it’s needed which allows a system boiler to meet higher demands for hot water. This is opposed to a combi boiler which delivers hot water on demand without storing it in a cylinder.
Viessmann Vitodens 200-W boilers come with a standard warranty period of 3 years which can be extended to 5 years when installed by Viessmann Trained Installer and 10 years if registered through the Viessmann Installer Portal.

The efficiency rating of 94% makes this is a highly efficient boiler and has been awarded an ErP A-rating as a result. It’s even capable of delivering efficiencies as high as 98%. Thanks to being so efficient, a Vitodens 200-W system boiler could help to lower your heating bills.
This 25 kW model is one of the more powerful models in the Vitodens 200-W range and is well suited to homes with around 15 radiators.
If a 25 kW boiler is too powerful for your home then smaller 11 kW and 19 kW models are also available. Should you have higher demands for heating then the 32 kW boiler would be the best option.
If your property has 2 or more bathrooms then a system boiler is a great option. This is because they store hot water in a cylinder rather than delivering it on demand like a combi boiler. So while they do meet higher demand for hot water, system boilers do take up more space.
Featuring a 3 year warranty as standard, this can be extended to 5 or even 10 years. To get a longer warranty the boiler must be installed by a Viessmann trained installer.
Vitodens 200-W boilers can connect to the internet which means you can take control of the heating from your phone, a wide modulation range of 1:17 which keeps energy usage to a minimum and quiet operation. Viessmann Vitodens 200-W B2HE 32kW System Boiler
The Vitodens 200-W 35 kW, manufactured by Viessmann, is the most powerful system boiler available in the range.
An efficient boiler will help to lower your heating bills and Vitodens 200-W boilers deliver highly efficient performance of 94%. This makes it an ErP A-rated boiler. While the efficiency rating sits at 94%, the unit can achieve efficiency levels of 98%.

About Viessmann
Founded in 1917, Viessmann is a family enterprise with a reputation for manufacturing boilers of exceptional quality and reliability. The UK branch opened in 1989 and continues to offer an extensive range of gas, oil, steam and biomass boilers, as well as many other popular products including water cylinders, heat pumps and refrigeration cabinets.
The company’s Vitodens boilers are user-friendly and feature innovative technology to enable customers to control comfort and save money. Viessmann is also committed to supplying exceptionally clean and energy efficient systems that meet the demands of every home.
Viessmann Combi Boiler Prices Range Between £809.45 and £2,747.31 and are Endorsed by Which? in 2017
As with all combination boilers, Viessmann’s combi boilers do not require a separate cylinder or cold water tank – which is great news if you don’t have much loft of storage space. The range embraces five user-friendly models and includes options with power outputs from 19kW to 35kW.
All of the models are compatible with smart technology, for example, the Vitodens 050-W Combi, Vitodens 100-W Combi and Vitodens 111-W Storage Combi can be used with the tado° thermostat and app to allow you to control your heating from anywhere. You also have the Vitodens 200-W Combi, Vitodens 222-F Combi and Vitodens 242-F Combi – ideal for use with the ViCare app and Vitotrol Plus app which, again, help you to control your boiler from wherever you happen to be.
Also, each model has an Inox-Radical heat exchanger, a low level of operating noise and was endorsed by Which? in 2017. Prices typically start at £809.45 and go up to £2,747.31, and warranties vary between 2 and 5 years.
Viessmann System Boiler Prices Range Between £901.41 and £1,571.79 and are Super Quiet and Energy Efficient
The Viessmann system boiler range is also Which? recommended and contains models in outputs from 19kW to 35kW. Although fairly compact, these boilers do require a separate cylinder for your hot water – so you must make sure you have enough space in your home if you don’t already have one.
These are feature-rich boilers that are very quiet when in use and compatible with smart app technology. There are only two models including the Vitodens 100 W-System with 5-year warranty and the Vitodens 200-W System with 3-year warranty, both of which can help to cut energy costs and reduce carbon emissions.
Like always, the bigger the Viessmann system boiler and the more sophisticated the model, the more it will cost. The cheapest option is around £901.41 and the most expensive system boiler has an average price of £1,571.79.
Viessmann Heat Only Boiler Prices Range Between £883.83 and £1,159.05 and are Extremely Durable
Viessmann’s heat only range includes just one boiler, otherwise known as the Vitodens 100-W Open Vent. It features mostly the same benefits and technology and the system and combi models, such as an Inox-radical heat exchanger, low level of noise and smart app compatibility. This boiler also comes in various sizes, such as 13kW, 16kW, 19kW, 26kW and 35kW.
Ideal for homes with greater heating and hot water demands, the Viessmann Vitodens 100-W Open Vent requires a separate cold water tank (in the loft) and hot water storage cylinder (usually found in the airing cupboard). This model is a great solution for properties with low water pressure as well.
The boiler is backed by a 5-year warranty and costs between £883.83 and £1,159.05, depending on which power output is required.

Construction and Material
Why is material construction so important when choosing a condensing boiler? Most condensing boilers tout that they are constructed using stainless steel but, are all grades of stainless steel the same? Viessmann has always, and only, chosen to use SA 240-316Ti in the construction of all of our condensing boilers (and our indirect water heaters) and the CU3A is no different. 316Ti is a Titanium Stabilized Stainless Steel. The addition of titanium is made to decrease the risk of intergranular corrosion and pitting when exposed to aggressive corrosive conditions at temperatures above 800° F.
The corrosion resistance of 316L Stainless, the material utilized by most of our competition, is greatly reduced with extended exposure to these high temperatures. At low temperatures, both materials are pretty compatible but remember, combustion chamber temperatures on condensing boilers typically exceed 1600° F. With typical pH levels between 4 – 5, similar to that of red wine, there’s no question that the condensate produced by a condensing gas boiler is corrosive. When combining this low pH with high combustion temps, if you’re looking for longevity, SA 240-316Ti used in the CU3A is the only choice.
YEAH BUT, IS IT MORE EFFICIENT?
This is really the important question, right? Is the CU3A more efficient than the competition? If we’re going to ask the consumer to make an investment, we have to be able to show value. When we’re talking about an investment in a new boiler, this “value” usually comes down to efficiency. It’s no secret that most all condensing boilers advertise combustion or AFUE efficiencies within a percentage or two of 95%. The CU3A is right there, boasting some of the highest AFUE efficiencies in the industry. Let’s face it though, the difference of a point or two of AFUE in either direction isn’t going put your kids through college.
It probably won’t even buy their books. The reality is that true efficiency is the ratio between the amount you pay to operate a piece of equipment and the amount of heat it delivers to your home or building. True efficiency requires a holistic approach and this is really where the CU3A shines. Yes. The CU3A, like most of our competition, has an AFUE rating of 95%. This however, is where the similarity in overall efficiency ends. Unlike any of our competition, the CU3A has a feature called Lambda-Pro. Lambda-Pro is a combustion manager that constantly measures and adjusts the fuel to air ratio to maintain consistent excess air or oxygen levels.
As you recall from an above paragraph, higher levels of oxygen reduce combustion efficiencies. How do oxygen levels change during the heating season? The two most prevalent ways are change in ambient temperature (or the change in temp of the burner’s intake air) and change in the calorific value of the fuel. Both change constantly during the heating season. The other boilers may be 95% when drawing in nice warm air when it’s 70° outside but, what happens when the outdoor temps drops to, say, 20°? Well, since colder air holds more oxygen, the efficiency is reduced.
The CU3A with Lambda-Pro however, has the ability to modulate both the gas valve and the blower to insure that the perfect fuel to air ratio is always met. Our competition, only, modulates the blower. UNCOMPROMISE.US Is electrical consumption important when discussing efficiency? It was, when Viessmann designed the CU3A. One of the biggest complaints of consumers that have had new condensing boilers installed is that, while they’ve certainly noticed a reduction in fuel usage, they have realized an increase in electrical consumption. Remember earlier, we discussed that most other residential boilers (including some of ours) require the addition of boiler pumps?
These are pumps whose sole purpose is to circulate heating water through the boiler. They don’t really deliver heat to the home. They are there to satisfy the needs of a low mass, high pressure drop boiler that has minimum flow requirements. What does this requirement translate to in dollars? Let’s assume we live in an area with an electrical rate of $0.14 per kWh. Keep in mind that this doesn’t include the wattage of the boiler itself. It’s just the added pump. The most common pump required by these lowmass boilers consumes about 150 watts per hour. In a New England winter, this single pump could account for about $700 to $800 per year.
Consider this, in many cases, there is another one of these pumps making domestic hot water as well. Because of the CU3A’s high-mass, low pressure drop design, this parasitic load is not required or desired. Of course, serviceability comes in to play with regard to energy savings as well. As discussed before, our CU3A boilers are designed with ease of service and maintenance in mind. If our boiler can be serviced in half the time of our competition, this is more money in the consumer’s pocket.
Research & methodologies used behind the in-depth analysis of Viessmann Boilers:

Williams & Co launched this survey in October 2018. There were some initial qualifying questions (how many boilers do you fit, how much influence do you have and so on). The survey was in 5 sections, with questions about the manufacturers support and service, including technical helplines. There are then in-depth questions about combis, regular and system boilers. In these sections, respondents were asked their opinions about ease of installation, build quality, how easy the boiler was to service and some further questions about spares.
The engineers had to have worked on the boiler over the last 12 months. These questions included asking the engineers which branch of boiler would they recommend if one of their nearest and dearest was having one installed. There were 3 categories for this: Small budget, medium budget and a money no object budget. A final question asked what they would say to the MD of a manufacturer if they had his ear.
These are the findings, with over 700 verified Gas Safe Registered engineers giving freely of their expertise and insights from working on them.
Compared to our previous survey (2017/2018) there has been an encouraging change in the amount of boilers that engineers have installed over the past 12 months, with fewer installs between the 5-10 mark (was 24% now 21%). The ground was mainly gained in the 11-25 range, from 36% to 40% of installers enjoying an uplift in new installs. The higher and lower tiers remain relatively unchanged, with a slight increase in the 26-50 range which rose by 1%.
It would appear that the respondents have also increased their ability to install the boilers of their choice, with fewer engineers saying they only have some influence (20% in 2017/2018, down to 17%) and more having a strong influence (up from 50% to 53%) and a 1% increase in those who said they had complete control. Those who had no influence remains unchanged at 2% of all respondents fitting what the customer specifies or their company provides.
The trend of ‘more’ is continued in the repairs and servicing arena, with less engineers repairing/servicing under 100 boilers per annum, 5% less overall with those 5% now maintaining greater than 100 boilers a year.
Scores for presales literature and advice have fallen this year, although Worcester and Vaillant maintain the top spots. Atag make an appearance for the first time shooting straight into 3rd spot. In the last survey, we couldn’t include this manufacturer as there weren’t enough respondents who had worked on them to qualify.
Atag make an entrance this year straight in at the top spot for their after sales support. This would include warranty call outs and representative’s assistance. Most manufacturer’s scores dropped compared to the last survey, with some exceptions (Keston, Heatline and Baxi) who increased their after-sales score by 3%, 3% and 2% respectively.
Worcester remain at the top for their technical helplines scoring 75%, up 1% from the previous survey. Vaillant hold on to second place, although their score was down 5% from 72% to 67%, with Baxi marginally behind. Ideal and Atag are the only other two manufacturers scoring above 60% with noticeable drop offs in scoring as we work down the list.
Stories From The Real-World Use Cases

All the boilers above are recommended by our experienced experts, and all of them apart from the 242-F Combi are Which? Best Buys to boot – but the 100-W Boiler is Viessmann’s best-selling gas condensing boiler.
Essentially, there are six boilers available from Viessmann, and all these are ideal for homes – and with at least two versions of each model, there’s plenty to choose from.
For instance, the Vitodens 050-W is a combi boiler that comes with energy outputs of 29 kW or 35 kW.
The Vitodens 100-W, on the other hand, is available in 10 different models, offering conventional, combi and system options – and energy outputs that range from 19 kW to 35 kW.
Viessmann boilers will help you cut your energy bills. All models achieve a high Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in the UK (SEDBUK) rating.
Any boiler with a 90% score or above is given an ‘A’ rating, and Viessmann has As across the board.
In our experience, installing a new Viessmann boiler will cost you anything from £600 to £3,500.
You can expect to pay between £600 and £1,500 if you have a small home, £700 to £2,000 if you live in a semi-detached or terraced property, or £900 to £3,500 if you have a detached home.

Very impressive!
Our old Worcester Bosch 29CDi which was only 9yrs old (and serviced every year by BG!) just decided to break on us, so we needed a new replacement.
I did some research and found the Viessmann Vitodens 0-50W 35kW boiler. What immediately attracted me to this boiler is that it had a stainless steel heat exchanger. I hate plastic! So I loved how this boiler has a stainless heat exchanger! Also, it’s German – who are known to make reliable stuff!
Ordered it and installed for £1800 by iHeat. It is a wonderful boiler. Faster heat-up time, all of the radiators (including the one in the conservatory!) heat up, can have shower while others are washing dishes etc and just very efficient!
I recommend Viessmann for boilers (100%!!!)
