The boiler is quiet and works well so far with no issues. This is down to my choice of installer ACE of Southampton I suspect as in my experience the better the engineer the more likely you’ll have a reliable installation. They had supported my last boiler for the last 10 years of it’s 30 year life so I guess that speaks for something. Looking forward to a fault free future as I’ll be renting my property in the next few years and it’s a vital component to a good let.

This is my second Worcester Bosch boiler. I have had this one which is a green star 800 life. I believe the boiler works very well. I live in a bungalow and I have this one installed in the attic. My only criticism is I wish the controls were more simpler for me as I am nearly 66 on the boiler I don’t even know how to switch it off and on and as for the small remote control I manually turn it on and then off to be honest with you I can’t figure it out my old one used to have a control on the wall and that was very simple to set up to come on at different times and go off but this one for me I do not like the remote control that is my only criticism I would prefer a Slightly bigger Control that was very simple and easy to set up and understand. I’m sure a lot of people will say the same.

I had a Worcester boiler fitted in 2016 and have had no end of issues since. The customer service has been very good and an engineer has always been sent out. However my warranty is due to finish in a few months and I am concerned that any repairs after will cost me. The last engineer who came out in Nov admitted that I had ‘bad luck’ with the boiler and that I should contact Worcester. Since the engineer has been, I have had to increase the pressure on my boiler every 3 days. This should not be happening. I sent an email asking for a replacement boiler as I am sure the current one (due to all the issues) is not fit for purpose. It’s not as efficient as it should be and has therefore increased my gas bills. I have received a reply from a member of management who has not acknowledged all the issues but instead has told me there is nothing they can do and that when the warranty expires I can pay for a new service plan. He has skirted around the issues almost trying to avoid blame. At the very least he could’ve suggested an extension on my warranty for all the issues and troubles. Absolutely useless management and no help whatsoever for a boiler that is not fit for purpose and still under warranty! Avoid Worcester from now on. Prior to this I had a Vaillant which never gave me any trouble. Stupidly I trusted the ‘Worcester hype’ and I now regret it. I have sent an email response back to Worcester and am waiting for a reply. Let’s hope they realise how unfair they are being and actually help me. I will update on this if anything positive actually happens.

When the boiler came out the box and fitted it was in manual mode so when we tried to connect our thermostat it did nothing, had to call Worcester Bosch to go through 3 people to speak to a technical advisor who solved it in a matter of seconds. Since then we have had an error on our thermostat 1037 which points to an outside temperature sensor which our boiler doesn’t have and we can’t seem to get rid of the error.

Other than these issues the boiler works well.

A high quality boiler which has performed very well.

The boiler was fitted in February 2020. This is the 1st time we’ve had oil heating and have found it very efficient. Once the house renovation is completed, the rest of the radiators are replaced and insulation work completed we will see the true efficiency of the boiler.

One can have a water softener in combination with our boiler as it will prevent the hot water circuit from scaling up and losing efficiency. But, the central heating circuit should be filled with hard water and a chemical inhibitor.  This can also be done using the water softener – when filling or topping up. Else , the filling loop feed can be connected upstream with the water softener.
