For a customer, it becomes quite difficult to find the right boiler that would fit his needs and wants. It is one big task due to the reason that there are so many boiler brands available in the market with so many ranges and models having different features and benefits. Viessmann vitodens 242-f combi boilers are one of the most efficient boilers to meet the need for hot water more than small houses usually do. What Do The Experts Have To Say?

Minneapolis boiler expert David Howland has been a Service Technician at Standard Heating since 2005.

“Boilers provide radiant heat, which warms objects in a room. In contrast, a forced-air furnace warms the air in a room, which means objects absorb heat more slowly. Some people prefer boilers because they can set their thermostat at a lower temperature and the radiant heat makes the room feel warmer than the actual air temperature. Others say boilers provide more balanced heat throughout the home during the winter months.”

Feedback- Just had a boiler repair

Detail- I have just had a boiler repair done by an engineer and when he left, I noticed a slight leak I contacted customer service and they said they couldn’t come and sort it until I had requested my service contractor (that’s a whole other nightmare). I was then told by the customer service agent that their engineers do not make mistakes and that the leak must have happened some other way after he had left. to me, that suggests they are blaming us for tampering with the boiler. After speaking with Julie at Viessmann today I have changed my score slightly I still think a boiler retailing at £825 should not have had repairs done to it totaling £842 and that’s with £200 credit after only 4.5 years. I will get this boiler removed as soon as I can as I have no doubt it will keep costing me in years to come. My last boiler lasted 18 years with no flushes and no issues at service.

Thanks again to Julie for all your help as without it this review would have been very different.

Feedback– Brilliant

Detail– Keith Kerslake Ltd did a brilliant job. Very informative and a 1st class installation with no complaints about my coffee-making skills.

The boiler has only been in a week so a bit early to say a lot about it. Except, that we have so far seen a 100% improvement on the old one and we know that this installation is up to current regulations. I lived in Germany for 8 years and have always been a fan of German engineering.

Detail- We had the Viessman Boiler fitted in March just as the COVID-19 lockdown was being implemented. It came a bit earlier than planned as I suspect a number of customers had canceled their installation due to COVID-19.

Yorkshire Boilers, the installers were well briefed and prepared for the installation and carried out their work in a COVID-19 safe manner. The boiler had to be installed in a different place than planned but all the work was carried out to a high standard.

A few water pressure problems at the start were dealt with promptly and we have had no problems since then.

To date, the boiler has proved to be very quiet and faultless in operation. Too early to say whether it is saving gas but as it is a condensing boiler, we are hopefully reducing the impact on the environment.

Overall a very positive experience.

FAQs:

  1. WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BOILER AND A FURNACE?

A boiler is part of a heating system that heats your home by using water. A hot water boiler system circulates water in the heat exchanger of your boiler, which is then pumped through pipes to heat baseboards or radiators before returning to the unit to start the cycle all over again. A furnace part of a heating system that heats your home with hot air. A blower motor moves air through the furnace where it is heated and then distributes the hot air throughout a home’s duct system. The heat is then released from the duct system through the vents and registers in your home.

  • WHAT MAKES BOILERS DIFFERENT?

A wide range of factors can affect a boiler’s effectiveness, efficiency, cost, and lifetime. We recommend working with a professional contractor (Contact a ViPRO contractor here) who can help you select the best boiler based on your home’s size, radiators, heat loss, and a range of other factors.

  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY BOILER SERVICED?

We, along with most manufacturers and contractors, recommend a yearly checkup of your boiler system. These inspections can help catch small fixes before they become expensive repairs, and also maintain the health and safety of your family and loved ones.

  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY BOILER BE REPLACED?

A typical boiler’s lifetime is expected to be 15-20 years. However, things vary, and your boiler may last longer if well maintained, less if it is ignored. Once repairs are needed more frequently, or if they become increasingly expensive, then a replacement boiler may save you money in the long run. An added benefit is that new boilers are almost guaranteed to be much more efficient than older systems.

  • MY BOILER IS SHOWING FAULTS. CAN I FIX THIS MYSELF?

It’s best to get in touch with your ViPRO partner who can diagnose and fix the problem safely and effectively. A fault can mean a wide range of problems and a ViPRO partner has been trained on how to solve the problem.

Viessmann to the rescue after boiler problems

The fitting of a new Viessmann gas boiler by RBHM had been a nightmare. I’ll spare you the details but one of my many problems was their failure to leave me with the Benchmark commissioning sheet which is essential to obtain the Viessmann 10-year warranty. Eventually, I rang Viessmann and spoke to Suellen. She was in Finance (I couldn’t get through to anyone in Customer Service) but she didn’t fob me off, she listened patiently to my tale of woe. She was encouraging, assuring me that Viessmann would help me out: she would speak to a supervisor and they would get back to me probably the following day because by this time it was close to 5 pm. I can’t praise her customer service too high, it was exemplary.

Then – about an hour later – I got a follow-up call from Ian, a Sales Director. He reassured me, he was confident Viessmann would waive the Benchmark commissioning document and honor the 10-year warranty. Given my problems with the MD of RBHM, this provided me with the peace of mind I wanted. Amazingly, Ian sent me an email later that same evening to confirm he would get this sorted and I got another 2 emails the following morning to say it had all been agreed. What impressed me about Suellen’s and Ian’s customer service response was that they were not only true to their word and got things done but they were so sympathetic and understanding. This is in marked contrast to several people recently who have tried to cheat and deceive me – and that includes lawyers and Tribunal judges! My faith in human nature was restored and I’m now a firm fan of Viessmann.

Conclusion:

During the winter season, we have a constant need to feel warm and comfortable around the house. This becomes difficult in low temperatures and we all look for systems that would keep us warm. The heating system one can consider is a boiler. The reason behind this is that they provide an excellent and efficient central heating system and also fulfills the need for hot water for bathing and washing purposes. So, for the next winter do purchase a boiler to keep yourself and your family warm and happy!
