BUYING GUIDE- Vokera Mynute 35HE System Boilers

Given below is a detailed guide on Vokera Mynute 35HE System Boilers:

Is the Vokera Mynute 35HE the Right Boiler Type and Size for Your Home?

System boilers, like the Mynute 35HE, are generally best suited to larger properties that don’t have enough space for a feed and expansion tank. It will, however, require a separate water cylinder. This 35kW model from Vokera is perfect for medium to large properties with up to 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and around 20 radiators. Basically, it’s a good option for homes with a higher demand for heating and hot water. Please be aware that this information is to be used as a guide, and

you must seek advice from a Gas Safe engineer to make sure this boiler will satisfy your needs.

Mynute 35HE Technology and Main Advantages

This feature-rich system boiler has built-in frost protection to eliminate frost and cold weather damage, along with an anti-cycling control to improve appliance performance. There is an anti-seize function to stop the pump from sticking when the boiler is inactive and a fully recyclable aluminium heat exchanger to provide superior thermal transfer.

As noted above, the Vokera Mynute 35HE has an incredibly high modulation ratio that will act in accordance with the requirements in your home. For example, if you only need 15kW of power, the boiler will modulate itself down and adapt its output to this exact amount, rather than provide you with more than is needed. As a result, you’ll save energy and reduce your energy bills.

Since the boiler can be installed with a vertical or horizontal flue, it can be sited virtually anywhere in the home – something you may find beneficial if you’re tight on space. It has a traditional interface, and you also have the option to use an optional clock/programmer with this unit to enable direct control of central heating timings.

Boiler Energy Efficiency Credentials

The Mynute 35HE from Italian boiler brand Vokera is a SEDBUK A-rated system boiler with an official energy efficiency rating of 89%. Its high modulation ratio allows the boiler to modulate down in line with your household’s requirements, which not only increases efficiency and component longevity but also helps to slash your energy bills. It will save you up to 30% as it comes but can achieve a further 10% if you decide to install the boiler with an optional outside weather sensor or OpenTherm control. And if you want to protect the environment and get some free energy at the same time, you can choose to use the Mynute 35HE with Vokera’s Zenith solar thermal collectors.

What do Industry Experts have to Say?

Weather compensation controls regulate the output of the boiler in line with the outside temperature, and will lead to further savings of 3% under SAP, which allows the space heating efficiency to also rise by 3%. Our research shows that having no temperature control or no boiler ‘interlock’ will impair efficiency by as much as 5%.

Installing a combi boiler with a high maximum output and a wide modulation ratio will deliver optimal efficiency and comfort. Vokèra has made a significant investment in the development of boilers with excellent modulation ratios. For example, our latest Unica i28, Unica i32 and Unica i36 boilers all feature a class-leading modulation ratio of 10:1. This range also incorporates weather compensation and OpenTherm technology to further enhance fuel efficiency and comfort still further.

2021 is going to be an exciting year for the boiler industry and here at Vokèra we are looking forward to the challenges ahead. We have all the tools and information installers need to understand the changes and make the most of the upcoming opportunities.

Construction and Material:

A fully integrated electronic control board featuring electronic temperature control, anti-cycle control, pump over-run, self-diagnostic fault indicator, full air/gas modulation.

● Radial aluminium heat exchanger.

● Electronic ignition with flame supervision

● Integral high-head pump

● Fan

● Expansion vessel

● Water pressure switch

● Condensate level sensor

● Pressure gauge

● Safety valve

Apparatus Assembly (at rest)

When the appliance is at rest and there are no requests for heating or hot water, the following functions are active:

● 2-stage frost-protection system – the frostprotection system protects the appliance against the risk of frost damage. The first stage enables activation of the pump should the temperature of the appliance fall to 6o C. Should the first stage become active, the appliance will function on minimum +25% power until it reaches 35o C.

● Anti-block function – the anti-block function enables the pump to be energised for short periods, when the appliance has been inactive for more than 24-hours.

Apparatus Assembly

When there is a request for heat and/or hot water, via the programmer/time clock and/or any external control, the pump and fan are started, the fan speed will modulate until the correct signal voltage is received at the control PCB. At this point an ignition sequence is enabled. Ignition is sensed by the electronic circuitry to ensure flame stability at the burner. Once successful ignition has been achieved, the electronic circuitry increases the gas rate to 75% of the MAX Heating (set by the corresponding HTG trimmer) for a period of 15 minutes. Thereafter, the boiler’s output will either be increase to maximum or modulate to suit the set requirement. When the appliance reaches the desired temperature the burner will shut down and the boiler will perform a three-minute anti-cycle (timer delay). When the request for heat has been satisfied the appliance pump and fan may continue to operate to dissipate any residual heat within the appliance.

SAFETY DEVICES

When the appliance is in use, safe operation is ensured by:

● a water pressure switch that monitors system water pressure and will de-activate the pump (when lockout condition is reached), fan and burner should the system water pressure drop below the rated tolerance;

● fan speed sensor to ensure safe operation of the burner;

● a high limit thermostat that over-rides the temperature control circuit to prevent or interrupt the operation of the burner;

● flame sensor that will shut down the burner when no flame signal is detected;

● a sensor that interrupts the operation of the appliance if the condense pipe becomes blocked;

● a safety valve which releases excess pressure from the primary circuit.

FAQs:

Q. My central heating / hot water has stopped working, what should I do?

A: Check there is gas to the boiler.
Check there is electricity to the boiler.
Check there is sufficient water pressure.
Check the boiler controls are in the correct position and switched on.

Q. Why is my boiler not lighting?

A: If you use a token/card type meter check the meter has enough credit.
Check if there has been a disruption to the gas supply.
Check the gas tap is turned to the correct position.

Q. Why is water being discharged from the boiler via the outside pipe?

A: The water pressure to your boiler may be too high. It should be set at about 1 Bar and never higher than 1.5 Bar.

Q. What could be the cause of continuing drops in water pressure?

A: This may indicate a water leak. If you cannot see water coming from the boiler the leak may be along the system, such as in the pipework or radiators. In this case, you will need to contact the installer of the system or your local Gas Safe engineer as Vokèra engineers repair boilers only.

Q. My central heating won’t come on after being turned off during the summer, what should I do?

A: Check the electricity supply is turned on to the boiler.
Check the boiler is switched on at the wall.
Check the fuse hasn’t blown in the plug.

  • Since 2005, it has been a legal requirement for new domestic gas boilers to be condensing, unless this is not possible. As well as combi, system and conventional boilers, Vokera also makes water heaters, hot water cylinders, solar thermal panels and heat pumps.
  • The red light on the display panel indicates a fault with your boiler. The way in which the light is flashing will help indicate the problem. … For example, on a Vokera Compact you might see an A01 fault code with a red flashing light, which indicates there has been a failure in the ignition sequence.
  • To reset your Vokera boiler, move the mode selector switch to the ‘OFF/RESET’ position and then move it back to either ‘hot water only’ or ‘heating and hot water’. Should this reboot get your boiler working again then you’ll know because there will be a constant green light.

  • Vokera System Boiler Prices Range Between £545.00 and £1,460.87 and are Great for Homes with Multiple Bathrooms. Simple to install and maintain, Vokera system boilers have better flow rates than the combi boilers because they need to be installed with a separate cylinder for storing hot water.

Conclusion:

The Vokera Mynute 35HE blends innovative technology and traditional design for ultimate reliability and end-user control. You certainly get a lot for your money with this one, from the high modulation ratio and smart anti-cycling control to the built-in frost protection and anti-seize function.

Suitable for the slightly more spacious home, the Mynute 35HE is an affordable boiler that is LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) compatible and needs to be installed with a cylinder if you want a hot water supply. It has also been designed for easy installation, so it won’t take your engineer all day to fit it and get it working.

Even though this appliance sounds impressive and can help you save energy and money, it doesn’t have the best customer rating we’ve ever seen. With this in mind, we suggest you do further research and get a second opinion from a qualified engineer to determine whether the Mynute 35HE is the best solution for your home.
