What Does The Expert Have To Say?

Baxi is an East Midlands-based boiler brand. It was founded in 1866 by iron moulder Richard Baxendale and his partner Joseph Heald. It’s now part of BDR Thermea, which also includes the boiler brands Potterton and Main, and is one of the largest boiler manufacturers in Europe.

For homes with hot water storage cylinders and a cold water tank in the loft, Baxi’s range of heat only, or regular, boilers include the EcoBlue Heat, EcoBlue Advance Heat, Baxi 200 and Baxi 400 Heat. Outputs range from 12kW to 30kW, so there is a model for every size of home, even larger properties with a higher demand for hot water.

1.Does the Baxi error code signify?

When your boiler displays an error code in the control panel it probably indicates that there is some problem. A gas engineer would help you identify what is wrong.

2.How will I identify that the condensate pipe is likely to freeze?

See if your condensate pipe runs along the outside of a wall at any point. The condensate pipe carries a condensate which is a liquid produced when all the heat has been taken out of the gas that has burned providing heat and water, to a drain. The part of the pipe which is outside is likely to freeze, you must keep a check.

3. Which output rating is suitable for my home?

Baxi Platinum 28 combi boilers has central heating and domestic hot water outputs of 28 kW. These output ratings make it best suited to homes with up to 15 radiators and 1 bathroom.

4.How long is the warranty period?

Featuring an extensive 10 year warranty as standard, you’ll be well covered after the installation of a Baxi Platinum

5.How efficient is the Baxi Platinum 28?

If you wish to install a Baxi Platinum 28 as part of your central heating system could help to lower your energy bills thanks to an efficiency rating of 92%. This means that almost all of the fuel is converted into usable energy (central heating or hot water). As a result of being so efficient, this boiler has been awarded an ErP A-rating for heating and water.

6.How long do the Baxi Platinum Combi Boilers last?

If your boiler is serviced and maintained properly it should last up to 15 years.

7.Do old boilers become less efficient?

If your boiler is serviced and maintained properly it is likely to show good results. However, a very old boiler may significantly have higher running costs.

Very happy with the service.”
