About the Vaillant Regular Boilers:
These boilers are supposed to capture more than enough space in the house, unlike the other two boilers. The boiler can be installed anywhere in the house but certain fixed places are dedicated to the hot water tank and loft space as required in this type of boilers. Vaillant manufactures one of the best designs of the regular boilers, also known as heat-only boilers. Vaillant is currently manufacturing mainly three models of system boilers. The output of these models varies from 12kW to 35kW. These boilers are one of the cheapest boilers in the market. However, you must calculate the overall expenditure including the installation charges before buying any boiler. There are a lot of advantages of this boiler as you can never run out of hot water and you can use hot water through multiple taps.
Advantages
- This boiler is designed as compact as to fit in a standard kitchen cupboard.

- This can be costly to install.

Buying Guide
Selecting a right boiler can never be easy especially when you are given so many options only by single company and there are so many brands currently available in the market. So, rather than looking for the qualities of the boilers, we must look at our requirements. We should analyze our requirements and demands regarding a boiler and then we should look for the boilers according to our needs.
Vaillant has been serving the households in UK for more than 135 years. It is considered that Vaillant was the first company to modernise the boiler. However, regarding the modernization of boilers, we must know that today around 70% of the old boilers are causing more damage to our environment than any other heating equipment. The boilers have evolved through ages to reduce its carbon footprint and be gentler towards the nature yet, the houses where old boilers don’t have these functions.
The different types of boilers are manufactured to suit different purposes and choices like if your house does not have enough space, you can go for combi boiler any day. If loft and hot water cylinder are already installed in your house, you must not hesitate from opting the regular boilers. This boiler has its own advantage and believe me, you will not regret this decision. However, before buying a boiler some points must be cleared out which can prove to be important in the decision-making. Some of these factors are mentioned below.
Things to keep in mind when looking for the right Vaillant Boiler for your home:
- Size of the house – It is an important factor as it helps you understand the type of boiler you are supposed to buy for your house. The number of family members and the bathrooms available in the house should also be considered before selecting a boiler.
- Efficiency – The efficiency of the boiler can either save your money or can make the boiler a burden on your pocket. Highly efficient boilers are considered feasible as they help you curb energy wastage and can almost cut your annual energy fuel bills up to 60%.
- Affordable – The cost of the boilers must be compared and analyzed before buying it. Sometimes, the boilers that cost less can empty your wallet when the installation charge and taxes are includes. So, it is better to analyze the cost of different boilers.
- Warranty – Generally, the warranty of a product symbolizes the quality that it provides. The warranty is considered to bring you mental peace so better select the boiler which provides a warranty for a longer period.
Facts You Didn’t Know About Vaillant Boilers:
- Vaillant has been established more than 135 years ago.
- Johann Vaillant, tenth child of his family, founded his workshop and started working as a copper beater and pump maker in 1874.
- It is one of the first if not the first company to manufacture the first combination boiler in THE EARLY 1960s.

Feedback – The boiler is fine, disappointed that the new timer is not compatible with a new boiler. The boiler is working fine, and the performance of the installer was excellent. I also purchased other Vaillant items including a thermostat (installed and working) and a timer which apparently (during the boiler installation) was found to be not compatible with the boiler even though the Vaillant website indicated simple installation and operation. So, I am operating the boiler without a timer, 24h/day.

Our new boiler developed an intermittent fault…Vaillant resolved this very quickly despite us living with COVID restrictions. Vaillant also kept me informed at every stage by phone, text, and email which provides reassurance that the issue was being taken seriously. The Vaillant Engineer showed up when expected, demonstrated in-depth knowledge and skill, and worked in a very methodical way to exclude all the potential causes of the fault. Three parts were replaced free of charge. All this was done within a COVID secure framework and all the surfaces of the boiler were sanitised before departure with a self-adhesive notification to advise me of this. Full marks to Vaillant for maintaining their professionalism during these difficult times…we remain cosy as we pass through the Winter Solstice.

I carried out an assessment of all the other major manufacturers but in the end, decided on Vaillant. More than happy with my choice of the Eco-Tec plus 430. I included the filter system to get the 10-year parts and labor guarantee. That has provided me with the peace of mind that I was looking for. So far, the boiler has been working great with no problems at all. Hopefully, that continues for a long time. The installation was carried out by Scott from Aberdeen Gas Services. The work was done to a high-quality standard. Also very tidy and COVID-19 compliant at all times. Would highly recommend both Vaillant and the installer.

Real-World Use Case:

I have recently had an Ecotec 938 boiler to replace my aged Worcester Bosch one. I was very satisfied with the Vaillant Accredited company who fitted the boiler who did a good job. The performance of the boiler is good and easily meets the demands of heating my 5-bedroom home (complete with high ceilings) hot water flow is also good. I opted to purchase the Vaillant Vsmart wi-fi heating control system for the boiler and that is where I have been disappointed with the level of service I received. On completion of the physical fitting of the boiler, the fitter basically left me to load the Vsmart App and to learn how to use it with no help whatsoever. Plenty of reading and watching “How To” YouTube video’s later I eventually started to master Vsmart, A second fitter visited me a couple of weeks later to replace the Vsmart as I thought it was faulty and he did exactly the same, with no guidance or help with the App whatsoever. By trial and error and after many calls to the very helpful Technical Helpline I have eventually (I think) managed to operate the Vsmart control correctly but this has taken 3 weeks. I am disappointed that I was left to discover how to use the control with no help. I am fairly confident on computers and apps so managed if you are not then without help the Vsmart system I would suggest is not for you.

FAQs
- What are the Vaillant Error Codes?
Error codes may appear on your boiler’s display; it’s your boiler’s way of telling you that something is wrong. Each manufacturer uses a different coding system to help an engineer to diagnose a fault. In some cases, it may be a simple issue such as low pressure which you can adjust yourself but more technical faults will certainly need a professional. We’ve put together a list of error codes for all Vaillant Boilers to help you understand what’s wrong before you contact an engineer.
- Are there any boiler faults that it’s easy and safe to fix myself?
No-one other than a Gas Safe registered heating engineer should ever attempt to fix your boiler; it’s dangerous and it will invalidate your warranty. You can use Which? Trusted Traders to find a fully qualified and vetted heating engineer. Having said that, if your condensing boiler has stopped working during a cold snap, it’s worth checking whether the condensate pipe (the small external white pipe that takes condensate from the boiler into an external drain) has frozen up.
- What about Vaillant Boiler Warranty?
Every boiler manufacturer offers a standard warranty with their boilers which lasts between 1-10 years. The warranty is your insurance policy and means if a fault develops the manufacturer will resolve it within a specified time frame. Some warranties include both parts and labor while others may only cover parts. The most important thing to remember is to get your boiler serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer every year as failing to do so is likely to invalidate your warranty. For more detail about this brand’s warranty (including the small print) take a look at Vaillant Boiler Warranty.

Conclusion
The only thing you should conclude after reading this article is that Vaillant can’t fail you especially in terms of durability, trust, and confidence. This brand has served around 135 years to gain this trust and they are not going to betray it easily through the substandard quality of the boilers. However, you must compare the prices of installation charges which are very different in every agency. So, don’t hesitate to contact your local engineer and give them the overview of your requirements and they will help you select a proper boiler for your house as they are less prone to commit any mistake.
